So much of good horsemanship starts before we ever put a foot in the stirrup. This course shows how just by paying attention we can be a positive influence for a horse. There are some basics signs that a horse is in good health and we discuss them here. We start with the easy things that can be checked visually. Then we drill down a little deeper and also cover how to take the horse's vital signs including locating that important digital pulse.
We wanted this course to be accessible to everyone, including those who have, up until now, only admired horses from afar. But while it was made specifically for people who are just starting out on their equine adventures, it contains information that can be of help to horse lovers of all levels.
At my school Harrogate Hills, I've been teaching people to ride since 1985. Our students understand and appreciate that the horse and his partnership with us is a gift that should never be taken for granted. At Harrogate, we believe the kindest treatment of the horse is gained through knowledge.
We look forward to seeing you on the inside.
